Staff was exceptional and hotel is clean and attractive! The bathroom was bright & the bedroom was comfortable. The venue was in a spectacular location, to a bus stop. Besides, it was not far from many good restaurants, Sefton Park and Lark Lane.

Actually the room was luxurious and budget with sofa, a bath, as example. It was reasonably priced for 3 star hotel. The vibe here was family.

Location is good - close to good restaurants on Lark Lane
Room was very small, the bathroom was dirty and had a damp, cracked ceiling. There was no provision for evening dining. Only 1 pillow each - we asked for more and they were delivered without pillowcases. Bar was ok but no crisps or nuts.

The location and quiet of the hotel (because we were the only guests for the first night)
The room was small with no clear window, and nothing like the picture on the website. No hot breakfast even though it was charged extra.

Stylish hotel, beautiful location in the countryside
It was very warm. Since the hotel is old, there is no air conditioning and the rooms could be badly ventilated.

Decent breakfast options with good quality food. The restaurant offers lovely views towards Sefton Park.
The rooms didn't match the promotional images, showcasing very worn and mismatched furniture. A few cobwebs dangled from the ceiling, and one shower was hanging off the wall. Privacy was compromised with a frosted glass window lacking a blind or curtain, and noise traveled easily through thin walls, resulting in a disturbed night amidst rowdy guests. The dated and scruffy decor was not ideal, especially for the price.

Only in town for one night for daughters graduation but no complaints whatsoever. A decent buffet breakfast and free early evening bar along with a comfortable room on the front of the hotel with little or no traffic noise. Overlooks Sefton Park which, for me, is the most attractive part of Liverpool. Free parking at the hotel and a taxi to the city centre will cost c£5. So for £79 a very good deal and will stay there again.

A practical review for you
The location was ideal for exploring nearby parks, and the staff were accommodating. My double room was well-furnished, though some furnishings appeared a bit worn. I enjoyed the breakfast, though a self-service option would improve it. Noise disturbances from guests proved quite disruptive , detracting from our comfort.

Good value hotel 5 minutes from Liverpool city centre. Probably better value when Liverpool are not playing and porbably even better value again when Liverpool are not playing Manu U
No safe in the room but I suppose it's budget accomodation

The staff were very friendly. The location is excellent and the park opposite is beautiful for walking
I stayed in this hotel in March 2011 and the room I had was quite nice, we had a double bed and 2 single beds. I booked an executive twin room this time for my young son and myself. I was very disappointed. The room was very small with two tiny single uncomfortable beds, the carpet was very badly stained, the dated pine furniture was falling apart and the shower in the bathroom was the worst I have ever seen, there was hardly any water comimg from it. The only plus sign for paying extra for an executive room was the view. Would not pay for this again if I ever decide to stay there
